Preliminary Flood Map Review - City Of Oxford and Lafayette County

FEMA has completed development of new flood maps for the City of Oxford and Lafayette County. A public viewing of the preliminary maps will be held on Tuesday. August 11, 2026 from 4 to 7pm at the Lafayette County Multipurpose Arena located at 70 F.D. Buddy East Parkway. The meeting is come and go at your convenience with no registration or sign up required.

Local government officials, as well as representatives from FEMA, MEMA and its engineering consultants, will be on site to explain the mapping process, present the maps to the public, and answer any questions about specific properties citizens may have.

These maps are preliminary only and will not go into effect for some time. Affected property owners and local governments will have the ability appeal the maps during a 90-day period that will begin approximately one month after the public viewing.
