Oxford is a community that values our tree lined streets, shaded parks and beautiful tree canopy. We have heard from people across the country who want to be sure Oxford is able to replant in a way that provides shade and protection to future generations. Many have asked to contribute financially to the replanting of trees in Oxford. We are so grateful for your love of Oxford! If you would like to donate, all money will go to the purchase of trees. A tree inventory including tree species, caliper, and condition was done a few years ago for all City of Oxford property. We plan to update our existing tree inventory, collecting new data on the effect of the recent ice storm. This dataset will be used to analyze the hardest hit areas, areas of potential future tree loss, on-going maintenance issues, and will inform our replanting plan. Planting should occur later in the year so we anticipate an Arbor Day Celebration and community tree planting for the fall. Thank you for helping us replant for our future!
