Recent Cable Television
Changes Information
MetroCast the New Cable Provider in Oxford, MS

MetroCast Communications, is the new cable TV provider after the sale of Vista III Media to that company last year and approval by the Oxford Board of Aldermen (see Board of Aldermen Minutes from 2/19/2008 p. 32)

The contact information for MetroCast is:

MetroCast Communications
311 Heritage Dr.
Oxford, MS 38655
662-728-8111 or 800-457-5351

Rick Ferrall, Local General Manager:  662-234-4711 ext. 11

Note that the old number for Vista III media is no longer in service.

MetroCast is permitted to operate in the City of Oxford by the terms of a franchise agreement with the City. This agreement enables MetroCast to maintain and develop its cable infrastructure within the City's right-of-way. The agreement is non-exclusive, and competing cable providers are permitted to operate in Oxford, should they choose to do so, under the same terms as the City's agreement with MetroCast.

Unlike Oxford Electric, or Oxford Water and Sewer, cable operation is not a municipal service, and the City does not control or oversee the day to day operations of MetroCast. However, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen are interested in whatever concerns citizens may have about their cable service, and the Mayor's office will be glad to collect and forward any written queries or concerns to MetroCast, and compile that information for use in future franchise negotiations.
