| Oxford Fire Department Mike Hill, Fire Chief 662-232-2418 ALL EMERGENCY CALLS 911 The Oxford Fire Department is known for aggressive fire fighting and fire education. Through continuing education programs and the State Fire Academy, OFD stays abreast of new technology with new ways to make fire service more efficient and safe. The department serves and protects approximately 19,000 Oxford residents and 14,000 students on the campus of the University of Mississippi. The department also performs auto extrication rescue for the 640 square miles of Lafayette County. The department is composed of 60 full-time firemen and 15 reserves.
